Before coming to the US to continue her medical career, Dr. Torno worked as a research associate at the Philippine Pediatric Society, Inc. Dr. Torno then came to the US to complete her medical training at Wheeling Hospital, located in Wheeling, West Virginia. There she was a Family Medicine Resident from 2012 to 2015. For more than two decades, Dr. Rao has not only provided superior care to her patients but has served as a leader in her profession, earning the respect of her colleagues. In 2018 her peers nominated her Washingtonian magazine’s Top Doc. Dr. Rao’s drive for excellence began during her medical education in India. She earned her medical degree from Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute in Bengaluru, Karnataka, graduating with the Gold Medal award. Dr. Rao did an internal medicine internship at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee, where she earned the distinction of Best EKG Interpretation. Dr. Rao completed her postdoctoral clinical training with an internal medicine residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania.     Board-Certified Family and Primary Care Nurse Practitioner

    ‘Joan’ Qiong Wang is a board-certified family and primary care nurse practitioner at Prima Medicine in Fairfax and South Riding, Virginia. Joan has over 20 years of clinical nursing experience, working with diverse patients, from HIV/AIDS patients to those in intensive care units. With each patient, Joan seeks to bring compassion into every interaction. Joan received her nursing diploma in 1997 from Hangzhou Normal University in Hangzhou, China. After graduation, she traveled to the Philippines to complete her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing at Adventist University of the Philippines in 2002. She started out her medical career in 2017 as a certified medical assistant. During this time, she worked at Bristow Pediatrics in Bristow, Virginia. She enjoyed her time in Bristow, but Alexa knew she wanted to help people even more. In 2019, she went back to school to obtain her Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies.     From the time she was in nursing school, Surin Rodino, ANP-C knew that she didn’t just want to be a nurse, she wanted to be a great nurse. What might have seemed like a lofty goal at the time has shaped Surin into the deeply caring and compassionate nurse she is today. Now she serves as a board-certified adult nurse practitioner at Prima Medicine with two offices in the metropolitan Washington, D.C., area: Fairfax and South Riding, Virginia. She began her nursing career as an undergraduate student at Columbia University School of Nursing in New York City, where Surin earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing, graduating with honors.     Siddique Toghral, MD, is a family medicine physician at Prima Medicine, with two offices in Fairfax and South Riding, Virginia. Prima Medicine is happy to welcome Dr. Toghral to the practice as he is committed to delivering exceptional patient care. Dr. Toghral completed his Bachelor’s of Science in Biology at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. He then went on to pursue his Doctorate in Medicine (MD) at St. George's University School of Medicine in 2015. Once he received his medical degree, he sought the opportunity to further his specialty in family medicine through the Lynchburg Family Medicine Residency program, where he was eventually named intern of the year at the practice.
